New RNC Logo Casts Nod to Cleveland's Rock 'n' Roll Spirit

Sheesh almighty... We thought the new Ohio tourism logo was enough to sate our bellies for a while. I mean, it had been some time since Destination Cleveland rolled out "This is Cleveland," and we had grown hungry for another #branding success story.

Today, though, we're happy to announce yet another pitch-perfect design.

Dig the new RNC logo, a rather subtle nod to Cleveland's "rock 'n' roll" legacy — something that Destination Cleveland has stated we should veer away from, but, still, something that the rest of the world is able to quickly grasp when "Cleveland" is mentioned. It's easy, and it doesn't involve having to explain the merits of the Polish Boy to outsiders.

Plus, what's more badass than a blood-red elephant stomping across a giant guitar, trunk raised in the song of its people?

Based on the logo alone, I think it's safe to say we'll all be tuning into President Trump's fireside chats by the spring of 2017 — and cherishing them.
