No One Important Wants to Be Mayor of Lakewood

It’s no longer accurate to say no one is interested in filling the office of Lakewood Mayor if current mayor Ed Fitzgerald wins the race for Cuyahoga County Executive.

Speculation as to who would take charge of the county’s 3rd largest city began when no one in the line of succession was interested in the job. That left Council President Kevin Butler to put out a help wanted ad, seeking applicants for the mayor to be considered for appointment by council. The deadline was at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1. The job pays about $75,000.
