Ohio is a glass half-full state according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. Despite crushing unemployment, political corruption, and the continued existence of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, three out of five Ohioans are confident that things will improve in the next four years under new governor John Kasich. The other two likely believe their cardboard boxes will be stolen.
The Quinnipiac University poll finds that most people in the state aren't happy with the way things are going and they're worried about Ohio's estimated $8 billion budget gap.Most of those surveyed say they don't want the state to raise taxes, and just over half believe Kasich, a Republican, won't be able to keep his promise not to do so.
Perhaps Ohioans aren't optimistic as much as confident things can't get any worse.
