Now in its 100th season, the Cleveland Orchestra returns to the Blossom Music Center stage once more this summer, as it has for the past 49 years. And with so much to celebrate, the orchestra brings out the big guns with this lineup of announced concerts.
Not only is Roger Daltrey of the Who coming to perform his band's seminal rock opera
Tommy in its entirety, as previously
reported, but the one and only Yo-Yo Ma and Audra McDonald are also coming to brighten up some summer evenings. On top of that, expect showings of
Star Wars: A New Hope, Disney's
The Little Mermaid and
Singin' in the Rain with the orchestra providing the music. Concerts run July 3 through Sept. 2.
This year, the orchestra is also bringing in food truck options as well as commissioning a Lego model to be on display for special events. As usual, bringing your own picnic basket and blanket is highly encouraged and anyone under 18 gets in free with a paying adult.
