Pink Revolution

Mary Taylor
Ok, so everyone's excited about Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) taking over as Speaker of the House. And sure, there's a record number of women in the Senate now. But what about the gals from Ohio? Looks like they threw down quite nicely themselves. We now have a female auditor, Mary Taylor, and secretary of state, Jennifer Brunner. In fact, the auditor's race was a contest between two women, fighting for the chance to crunch the numbers. How often does that happen? Then there's the slew of victorious lady congressional reps: Marcy Kaptur, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Betty Sutton, not to mention scores more in the state legislature. (Though Betty Montgomery lost the attorney general's race, we're pretty sure she's a man.) Forget the Blue Revolution. This one looks pink to me. -- Lisa Rab
