Last November, the charges against Davis were dropped after witnesses refused to testify against him, thanks to death threats they received from the gange. Since then, Davis’s mother has struggled to enroll Davis in high school.
When she tried to register him at East High School earlier this month, Akron school officials told her that he would have to be placed in alternative school first. “We have a lot of concerned parents," Superintendent Sylvester Small told Scene. "For his safety and the safety of other students, we'll wait for this thing to cool off before we integrate him back into the system…"
