Prank Kidnapping in Taco Bell Drive Thru Leads to Arrest

We tend to leave the weird crime to the local TV news stations and the sleuths over at Cleveland Dot (photos) (gallery) (best of the beat) (readers react) (analysis) Com, but we've hit some sort of weird true crime trifecta this week. With the Chuck E Cheese brawl under our belts, and yesterday's big mystery pooper news, today's headline via the ABJ that brings fast food into the mix was too good to pass up.

Akron police spent several hours looking for an SUV on Wednesday evening after workers at a Taco Bell on Arlington St. reported seeing a teenage girl bound in a vehicle with duct tape. Her mouth was taped over; her hands tied too. The Ford Explorer in question was being driven by a male suspect and the workers got the sense the girl was in trouble, trying to get them to notice her situation.

Her situation was not all that dire, after all. Once the cops found the Explorer... "the couple was questioned and admitted they were 'bored and just playing around.' The girl, 17, was charged with juvenile delinquency by means of inducing panic."
