Reader: Blame the School Shooting on Frank Jackson

WTAM today reported that the 14 year old boy who shot a few people and then died had been bullied and picked on at that school for some time, which apparently made the kid get so upset he shot people at the school. So the root of the problem may be that the school did not stop the bullying, which, to be honest, you must blame on mayor Frank Jackson, since he is, by law, the head of the Cleveland school system. The Cleveland school board used to be elected by the voters until several years ago some of the ruling class decided to take that right away from the voters, and made the mayor the head of the school system, with no elected board of education anymore, to enable the ruling class and the two corrupt political parties (especially the Democrats who control Cleveland and Cuyahoga County government) to do their corrupt self-serving, self-enriching backroom deals for themselves, their cronies and funders. Jackson, like most of these politicians, is out for himself, and does not really care about the public. The mayor of Cleveland usually is somebody with no particular interest nor experience nor aptitude nor expertise in schools, So it is a bad idea to have the mayor as head of the schools. It is all about ruling class control, rather than the public voting for a board of education. You have a tendency to let Jackson escape accountability in your newspaper for what is wrong with the Cleveland schools, this being one example today. There was no metal detector, which could have prevented this tragedy, because Jackson does not really care. That is what you should report in your newspaper. Mike Simmons
