Record Store Day Is April 20

Record Store Day, that hallowed celebration of all things vinyl, is this Saturday. So is the colloquially hazy 4/20, but we'll leave it up to you to find your way to that party (hint: in your buddy's basement).

Here's the lowdown on this year's RSD:

There will be hundreds of premium releases available at stores throughout the country. We posted a preview of some of the cooler titles earlier this year, but there are nearly a gajillion other offerings. Check out the robust lineup via RSD's handy .pdf.

Participating stores in the area, complete with the "RSD Pledge," include all Exchange locations, Phonographic Arts, Nikki's Music, My Mind's Eye, The Joy of Music, Music Saves, Blue Arrow Records, Crazy Dee's Muzic Palace and The Music Box.

And while we'd like to pretend that Paul McCartney granted us three seconds of interview time, we'll instead pass along this quote made available through the friendly PR team over at RSD HQ:

There’s nothing as glamorous to me as a record store. When I recently played Amoeba in LA, I realised what fantastic memories such a collection of music brings back when you see it all in one place. This is why I’m more than happy to support Record Store Day and I hope that these kinds of stores will be there for us all for many years to come. Cheers!
