Anyone who's hung around the Cleveland subreddit or dabbled in urban exploration themselves probably knows at least the bits and basics about the so-called rubber duck factory warehouse in University Circle. As for the whole story, many specifics are still mysteries, but Belt Mag did about as thorough a job as anyone laying it all out.
Anyway, there's a new mystery: how did it catch fire? More than 50 firefighters battled a blaze this weekend around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday that sent smoke into the sky that was visible from downtown. The massive fire basically destroyed the rubber duck factory warehouse building, and what wasn't consumed by the flames was to be demolished by the city Sunday afternoon, according to the account at Cleveland.com.
