UPDATE:

The case remains unsolved, but a temporary fix is now in place after a bridge on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail was damaged by arson on April 19.

Since the bridge wasn't insured there's no timeline for when the fix will be completed. It will cost between $75,000 and $90,000 to replace, Summit Metro Parks has pledged $10,000 and a fundraiser netted $2,200 toward the replacement.

The fire is believed to have been set in the early hours of the morning near the Wilbeth Road Trailhead. Anyone with info about the fire can call (330) 867-5511 to contact the park.
