Students in the government class at Norwalk High School were expecting State Representative Matt Barrett to give them another boring presentation on how a bill becomes law. But thanks to Barrett’s teenage son, kids were instead treated to a graphic portrayal of how a girl becomes a woman.
The freshman Amherst Democrat was all set to thrill young minds with a Power Point presentation on the legislative process. But when he inserted his flash drive into the teacher’s computer, a picture of a nude woman popped up. [And no, this was not a presentation on the Stripper Bill].
As giggles erupted from the class, Barrett rushed to get the picture off the screen, and eventually was able to continue with the slide show. Many of the male students, however, assailed the rest of the presentation as a flop. “I had a raging John Boehner, but now it’s gone,” noted one critic.
The incident was a humiliation for Barrett, who was swarmed the next day by throngs of cameramen and reporters at the statehouse. At first, he claimed he had no idea where the image had come from. But a day later, it seemed he had found the culprit: his teenaged son, who had apparently stashed his porn on dad’s jump stick.
“From what we have learned thus far, this is an internal family matter,” Barrett said in a statement. “We would appreciate respect for our privacy as we deal with the situation.”
Unfortunately for Barrett, his gaffe was the highlight of the week for Columbus pundits. “Yup, sounds like this is a good ‘ole case of Barrett’s kid bankin’ his skin flute library on pop’s memory stick,” read a post on the Buckeye State Blog. So much for privacy.
In related news, Barrett announced that his home will now feature the most frequently mowed lawn in his neighborhood until junior goes off to college. – Jared Klaus
