Sales of limited edition West Akron Baseball League t-shirts, sponsored by local rockers The Black Keys, have raised nearly $30,000 for the youth baseball league that band members Pat Carney and Dan Auerbach were once a part of.

At $25 a pop, over 1,000 shirts have been sold from the Black Keys online store and the West Akron Baseball League's site since going live last week.

With the raised funds, "We’re looking to improve fields and equipment and safety features for our children,” Steve Milkovich, WABL board member and vice president of T-Ball told the Akron Beacon Journal recently.

The shirts sport "The Black Keys 02" on the back, the "02" reflecting the year Carney and Auerbach formed the band.
