UPDATE: 19 Action News reports that the smoke came from an overheated air conditioning motor on the 5th floor of the building. Repairs were made to the unit and the building was declared safe to re-enter by 12:50 p.m.

No fire or injuries were reported.

The Cuyahoga County Justice Center was evacuated just before noon on Monday due to smoke in the lobby.

The cause of the smoke is currently unknown.

Around 1,000 people were forced to leave the building, according to 19 Action News, though most of them were already outside taking smoke breaks or belatedly looking for ScarJo on the street.

Firefighters have arrived to the scene and are investigating.

More to come as the story develops.
