In an official Facebook statement, the ICC, which is based in Parma, wrote that they are working with area police to protect their premises, as many mosques around the country are also increasing security following the attacks.
"The Islamic Center of Cleveland has always condemned all acts of violence against innocent people. Today, we again condemn, in the strongest terms, the senseless act of violence and terrorism in New Zealand. We pray for the innocent victims of this cowardly act and for their families. The vigil is open to people of all faiths and creeds.
We're working closely with the Parma police to provide extra security for our masjid and the school located on our premises. As always, Parma Police has been very helpful in our hour of need, and we would like to thank them for their continued support.
During these difficult times, security is a collective responsibility. We urge our community to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior immediately to the masjid management and/or Parma Police.
We ask Allah for His protection for all innocent people across the world."
