In an effort to bring the joy of original art to all homes (not just those with the means), Akron-Summit County Public Library cardholders can soon check out actual paintings, prints and photographs created by artists in Northeast Ohio and beyond for free.
A collaboration with the Akron Art Museum, the Akron Art Library officially opens to the public March 1, allowing patrons to take home incredible pieces for up to four weeks at a time for free.
Akron-Summit County Public Library Main Library, hosts a first-look party Feb. 22 for those eager to see which pieces are soon available. The event, running from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., includes family-friendly art activities and presentations by artists whose works are featured in the collection.
