The New "Quicken Loans Arena" LED Sign Debuted Last Night

Approved by the Cleveland City Planning Commission in March, a massive LED "Quicken Loans Arena" sign debuted last night atop the Q.

The unveiling was, of course, timed for Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals, wherein the Cavaliers trounced the clawless Toronto Raptors by the largest point margin (31) in franchise playoff history.

The LED roof sign, if Dan Gilbert is to be believed, is the largest of its kind in the world, and should do wonders for Quicken's visibility — that, and the non-stop Rocket Mortgage commercials — due to all the sick aerial shots that accompany national TV broadcasts.

Per the planning commission, only "Quicken Loans Arena" may appear on the signage. If Dan Gilbert wants to start advertising his other companies and their sundry offerings, he'll have to obtain additional approval.
