The local indie rock act the Promise Hero has finally started recording the follow-up to 2008’s Wait for the Sun. The band is currently in the studio with producer Jamie Woolford (Punchline, Gin Blossoms, The Format), who also produced Wait for the Sun, an album that sold some 3,000 copies to date. “I would say this album is a bit more expansive than the last,” says frontman Bobby Vaughn when asked about the new disc. “Like Wait For The Sun, it's filled with hooky alternative/rock tracks with more of an appreciation for a variety of genres.” To generate excitement for the new release, the band has made its back catalogue (one album, two EPs and three singles) available as a free download at thepromisehero.com.
