Last year,
the Q hosted
TORUK – The First Flight, a Cirque du Soleil show inspired by James Cameron’s sci-fi flick
Avatar. Now,
Corteo, another Cirque arena production, will come to Quicken Loans Arena from Nov. 15 to 18 for six performances.
Directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, the production premiered in Montreal in April 2005. Since then, the show has played to eight million people in 64 cities in 19 countries on four continents.
Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, centers on a festive parade imagined by a clown. The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, and the performance juxtaposes “the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection.”
The cast includes an international ensemble of 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors.
Advance tickets for
Corteo are currently available online to Cirque Club members.
Tickets will be available to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at
cirquedusoleil.com/corteo.
