The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's corpse flower has officially bloomed and is already attracting flies and curious Northeast Ohioans alike.

Since opening at about 5 p.m. yesterday, the flower has grown to 63-inches-tall, and is described by zoo officials as currently smelling like a mouse was stuck in a trap for too long. It has been seven years since this particular rare breed of smelly flower last bloomed. The flower's bloom doesn't last much longer than 24 hours so people are encouraged to visit within the day.

The RainForest portion of the zoo, where the plan resides, is open until 5 p.m. today.
