Hey, Hey, Hey
For most of February, funnyman Bruce Bruce spent his time on the fourth annual The Royal Comedy Tour, a multi-comic bill that paired him with fellow comics Mark Curry, Earthquake and Tony Rock. The press release that went out to announce the tour promised, “these comedians will explore issues such as politics, race, religion, and relationships and turn them inside out and upside down — nothing is off limits.” One of the most recognized “urban comics” on the circuit, Bruce Bruce certainly holds nothing back in his stand-up routines. A stocky guy who’s built like a boulder, Bruce Bruce regularly makes fun of his size and his half-hearted attempts to hold in his stomach. He also regularly jokes about relationships and his exaggerated inflection (admittedly, he sounds a bit like Fat Albert) is reason enough to laugh even if some of his material is run-of-the-mill. He performs at 7:30 and 9:30 tonight at the Tangier. Tickets range from

Chop Chop
During the ’70s and ’80s, imported Kung Fu flicks were so popular that many titles were dubbed and broadcast on American television. While the modern Kung Fu flick features far more sophisticated battle sequences and storylines, there’s something to be said for the vintage Kung Fu flick. For tonight’s Old School Kung Fu Marathon that takes place at 7 at Now That’s Class, locals are encouraged to bring their own cheesy Kung Fu flicks. The club will show the films on its projector until the bar closes. Already slated to be screened: Crippled Masters; Drunken Wu-Tang; Dracula vs. the 7 Brothers; Guns of the Master Killer. Homemade spicy popcorn will be served along with the usual assortment of libations available at the bar. Admission is free.
