Reflecting the "Two Clevelands" thesis that Ward 2 City Councilman Zack Reed riffs on now and then during legislative sessions, three shootings took place in Cleveland last night. One man was killed and two others were wounded, wrapping up a long weekend in Cleveland that looks eerily like so many other weekends of violence in this city.
The shootings took place between midnight and 2 a.m. today. No arrests were reported.
Jock Oliver, 47, died on Forest Avenue. Witnesses say
he was working on his car when a younger man came up and shot him.
The other two shootings took place at s BP gas station located at 10202 Lorain Ave. and at Bessemer Avenue. Both victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Anyone with information should contact Cleveland police at 216-623-5723.
