Two Budget Airlines Will Soon Link Cleveland to Europe

This week, both Icelandair and WOW Air announced upcoming direct flights out of Cleveland to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. From that city, connecting flights to a plethora of fine European cities are available with ease.

Both flights will debut in May 2018, and tickets will be available soon. Each airline advertises cheap airfare to Iceland, with WOW specifically hovering around the $99 mark.

A few years before Cleveland Hopkins lost its United hub status, the airport lost its direct flight to Heathrow in London (through United). Since then, we've been sort of inundated here in Cleveland with budget airlines, which blend cheap airfare with on-flight luxuries (like a carry-on or a can of Coke) for a fee.

However you slice it, though, this is good news for the Europe-curious strapped with a Cleveland-style budget. Keep an eye out for tickets, which will go on sale soon. We'll see you on Reykjavik.
