The Linden Tavern, a Rocky River staple for over 24 years, is closing its doors this Friday.

Owner Herb Eglinski confirmed that he and his family are ending their quarter-century run in the space. When asked why, Eglinski mentioned tenancy issues. "Regrettably, we were having too many difficulties with the lease," he says.

First and foremost, Eglinski wanted to thank his countless faithful guests. "Most importantly, we want to thank our loyal customers for their many years of patronage."

Asked if there are any future plans for a new location for The Linden, Eglinski added, "probably not for while."

No word on what might go into the old space.

Update: The owners have now said the restaurant will stay open until the end of the month.
