Watch Cleveland Heights Library's Pet Hedgehog on New Quillcam

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library's Lee Road branch now offers an inside look at the life of its new pet, Quilliam the hedgehog. Streaming live around the clock, a camera aims right at the animal's cage, littered with toys, food, water and a variety of places for him to burrow.

This full-grown African Pygmy Hedgehog is nocturnal so finding him awake during the day is rare. But the library notes Quilliam is often active at 9 a.m. and some during the afternoon, on top of his nighttime activities.

Library visitors are allowed to look into Quilliam's cage but, thanks to the animal's spiky quills and his penchant for relieving himself on those who hold him, only approved personnel are allowed to handle the creature.
