Speaking Critically

Nice review! ["Two's Company," August 10, 2011]. We've been waiting for Joe Clark: Cleveland needs a new art reviewer with fresh eyes and a real sense of what contemporary art can be. Good job.

I've seen this fantastic show at Kenneth Paul Lesko Gallery, and Joe nails the imagery as well as revealing some of the artists' intentions. Everyone should see this one!

Calling the Kettle Pot

I really take offense at your unnecessary remarks ["The Problem With Pot Politics," August 10, 2011]. I hope you and your loved ones never encounter a disease that require you to take narcotics that are much harder on your system because cannibis is illegal.

One day, you or someone you love may be faced with this decision. I hope you remember your obvious disdain if and when you do, because you obviously have no experience with pain management — nor have you spoken to any doctors about the benefits of medicinal marijuana. It is not just for smoking anymore!

Guns for Everyone

In response to "Copley Police Identify Michael Hance as Gunman in Killing Spree," at the Scene & Heard blog: And that's why we have a concealed-carry permit — so if some maniac comes knocking down our door looking for our son, we'll blow his motherf'n' head off!

A Soldier's Story

In response to "Engage the Enemy: A New Cleveland Court Helps Veteran Offenders Shake Their Demons," August 3, 2011: Good deal. It ain't easy coming back to the U.S. of A. only to find that rewards go to those who most easily betray others ... in direct opposition to the spirit and morality of the U.S. military.
