Willoughby Police Chase: Suspect Still At-Large, Prostitute Charged

The News-Herald reports that a police chase beginning in Willoughby early Monday morning ended with the driver still at-large and a local woman arrested for prostitution:

At 1:20 a.m. on Monday Willoughby Police made a traffic [stop] on Maplegrove Road and the minivan pulled into the parking lot of Motel 6.

The driver then fled and led police on a chase on I-90 into Euclid. The suspect’s car eventually crashed into a pole on East 185th Street near the Euclid and Cleveland border.

The driver ran from the minivan and has not yet been caught, but Willoughby Police Lt. Tom Trem said a cell phone was recovered at the crash scene.

Police followed up on a text message discovered in the cell phone and later encountered a man and a woman a Motel 6. The driver had been on his way there when police stopped him.

It was soon confirmed that the man at the motel had paid for oral sex. The 21-year-old woman was arrested for prostitution. The man is not charged with anything at this point.

Willoughby police are still looking for the original driver.
