The Med Mart deal is done now, but shortly before Cleveland's honchos took the vote, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert voiced his displeasure with the deal, stating:
"It would be irresponsible at this point, without further discussion, for them to approve this thing. This is about the redevelopment of this city, not just a site and contract."
Well, Tim Hagan didn't like that one bit. He responded in the testiest of testy ways:
"Tell Gilbert to move to Cuyahoga County and run for county commissioner," Hagan said, referring to the fact that the Cavaliers' owner is a Detroit native who still lives in Michigan. "I find the comments self-serving."
Which of course got Political Science 216 to slap together this impromptu campaign poster, start a Facebook group, and decide, yes, Dan Gilbert should do just that.
If the Cavs win the championship and Gilbert ever took the necessary steps to actually running for the office, you can bet your ass he'd win in a landslide, no matter which side of the political aisle he's on.
