Euclid Media Group is seeking an experienced, dynamic and creative individual to join our Production Department as a Layout Editor for it’s Cleveland Alt weekly.
The individual will design and layout our fast paced weekly publication(s) in addition to special issues and will support the Editorial and Sales Departments with the weekly production of the paper.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Laying out pages for the magazine, often to tight deadlines • Maintaining design quality standards • Discussing design and layout ideas with the editor and other colleagues • Anticipating trends and setting the magazine's overall visual style
Candidates must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign CS5.5.
You will be working in an exciting, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Scene Magazine is a weekly publication and thus, very deadline driven with tight turnaround times. You MUST be able to work quickly, calmly and under pressure. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Experience in a Production environment helpful. A general exposure and understanding of marketing is a plus.

Production Designer

The individual will design for our fast paced weekly publication(s) in addition to special issues and will support the Sales Department with the weekly production of the paper and assisting with client needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Creating and updating ads for clients; often to tight deadlines • Maintaining design quality standards • Discussing design ideas with the sales staff and clients • Designing spec ads for clients to take out
Candidates must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign CS5.5.
The individual should represent the following:
• Creative, with a highly-developed visual sense • A strong communicator, able to brief others clearly on what is needed • Confident in presenting ideas • Interested in magazine trends and graphic design.

Blogging Intern
Cleveland Scene Magazine is looking for several interns to join our editorial team as bloggers.
As an intern at Scene there's no getting coffee, filing, or making copies. Our interns spend their time doing meaningful work: researching, writing, and pitching story ideas for our blog.
You will be expected to churn out relevant, witty, breaking Cleveland news and commentary on a daily basis, as well as pitch and produce several editorially crafted slideshows per week. This position is oriented toward local news and arts coverage, with the opportunity to develop a specialty if desired. You will also have the opportunity to pitch story ideas for our print publication, and may even be tapped to write a feature story or news item.
When it comes to qualifications, a journalism background and experience writing for a news site always helps, as do copy-editing and multimedia skills.

Multi-Media Intern
Cleveland Scene Magazine is looking for 1-2 multi-media interns to produce video content for the publication’s website to accompany its print features and online reporting.Multi-media interns coordinate with the editor, reporters, web editor, and art director to produce two brief segments each week, as well as two long-term projects over the course of the semester. Interns must have excellent communication and organizational skills, well-developed creative and production skills, and be comfortable working independently and juggling several projects on tight deadlines.
Cleveland Scene has some limited equipment for interns to use but in general equipment is not provided. Interns must have reliable transportation and must be proficient in Apple Final Cut Pro X and Compressor, with some knowledge of Apple Motion. Applicants who are not enrolled in school and who are unable to receive academic credit are ineligible.

Multi-Media Sales Executive
Cleveland Scene Magazine, Clevelanders go-to source for local news, arts, music and entertainment, is seeking an energetic, outgoing individual for a Multi-Media Advertising Account Executive position.
The right candidate will be responsible for selling multi-platform advertising solutions including Digital Advertising (email, banner advertising, Text Messaging, Voice Local Network, and Phone Apps), Print advertising, Event Sponsorships and annual glossy publications to an eclectic and exciting group of clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Prospecting for a minimum of 20 leads per week
Making minimum of 125 outbound sales calls and securing and completing a minimum of 12 outside appointments per week
Building relationships with clients
Assisting in the marketing plan of each client
Assisting clients with their ad campaign and involved in the production process
Informing clients about and assisting with any promotional opportunities
Keeping in contact with and servicing current clients
Job Requirements:
Successful applicants should be motivated, smart on their feet, outgoing and personable, competitive and possess a strong work ethic. Successful reps here understand that you get out what you put in to a sales position.
Sales experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Strong skill set with developing and building business relationships
Solid understanding of the online marketing/advertising industry
