Fight Club is a 1999 American film adapted from the 1996 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. The film was directed by David Fincher and stars Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter. Norton plays the unnamed protagonist, an "everyman" who is discontented with his white-collar job in American society. He forms a "fight club" with soap salesman Tyler Durden (Pitt) and becomes embroiled in a relationship with him and the unstable Marla Singer (Carter). On Saturday, January 16, there will be a midnight showing of Fight Club at the Capitol Theatre (1390 West 65th St., 216.651.7295, clevelandcinemas.com) as part of the Cleveland Cinemas' Late Shift series. There is free parking in surrounding neighborhood lots. Cleveland Scene is giving away a four-pack of passes to the exclusive screening. Email us the answer to the following question to freetickets@clevescene.com, and you will win: The first rule of Fight Club is you never talk about Fight Club, but what is the second rule? Limit one prize per person; must not have won anything in the past 30 days. Cleveland Scene and Cleveland Cinemas are not responsible for lost or stolen passes; no cash value; passes must be exchanged at the box office for tickets.
