Mushroomhead: Eight men, but no Mann.
Former Mushroomhead frontman J. Mann isn't back in the band, but you might not have known it by watching TV. A Tower Records commercial that aired during this week's Headbanger's Ball hyped Mushroomhead's new CD, Savior Sorrow, by running a clip that was identified as a video for the new single "Simple Survival." The colorful footage featured Mann (now simply Jason Popson), but was actually taken from the "Solitaire Unraveling" clip," from 2001's XX compilation. "Yeah, it's a Tower screw-up with the commercial," says Robert John, president of Megaforce Records, Mushroomhead's label. "Somehow they didn't have new video, so they pulled it from old footage." -- D.X. Ferris
