Kiss at the Movies

Posted By on Wed, Oct 25, 2006 at 10:54 AM

Kiss unspools on the big screen.
Diehard fans of Kiss know that the best show in the band's 244-year history had to be the one at Detroit's Cobo Hall back in 1976. (Which is also a tactful way of saying that it's all been downhill for 30 years and counting.) The concert later became Kiss Alive!, one of rock's most highly regarded live albums among paunchy single guys with wispy mustaches. Thursday night at 8, you can relive that fateful evening in a big-screen rebroadcast of the original Cobo Hall show. It's happening simultaneously at only 164 theaters around the country, including: * Crocker Park 16 (30147 Detroit Road in Westlake, 440-871-4546) * Montrose Movies (4020 Medina Road in Akron, 330-666-9357) * Middleburg Town Square (18348 Bagley Road in Middleburg Hts., 440-891-9863) The show will be followed five days later by the release of the DVD Kissology Vol. 1 1974-1977, which technically is the 1,435th career retrospective released by the band. But a killer one, no doubt. Smear on the greasepaint and don't be late. -- Erich Burnett
