Nightowls of Coventry

Nightowls of Coventry, local filmmaker Laura Paglin's movie about Cleveland Heights' hipster mecca, is being released on DVD on February 15. The film — a nostalgic comedy set in a Coventry deli, circa 1973 — made its debut in a rough cut at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2003. In 2005, it opened at the Cedar Lee Theatre and had a relatively successful run for several weeks. It also played in Toronto and Portland, Oregon, and made the rounds at various film festivals. The DVD — which is being released by L.A. indie-film distributor Cinema Epoch — is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The disc includes deleted scenes, a trailer, and interviews with Paglin and Harvey Pekar, whose grumpy mug graces the DVD cover. --Michael Gallucci
