Battle of the Bands Tonight

Posted By on Wed, Jan 24, 2007 at 2:09 PM

Bif Naked will be judging tonight's affair.
Something to do tonight: Bif Naked, Johnny Rotten, dudes from the Cult, Atreyu, and Anthrax judge battle of the bands at Rock Hall. Bodog Music's Battle of the Bands visits the Rock Hall tonight. The event will be filmed for an upcoming reality series. Even if the bands suck, the talent judges are pretty cool: Winners will be picked by Johnny Rotten, Canadian rock grrl Bif Naked, Billy Duffy of the Cult, Dan Jacobs of Atreyu, and Charlie Benante of Anthrax. Scheduled to play are Atlanta's the Mood, Boston's Fear Nuttin Band, Chicago's Left 4 Dead, Dallas's Ashmore, Denver's the Desciples, Detroit's Silverspork, Houston's Subversa, Los Angeles's Blaxmyth, Miami's Big Bang Radio, Minneapolis's Leroy Smokes, New York City's Live Society, Philadelphia's Burn Down All Stars, Phoenix's Idle Red, Seattle's Fall From Grace, San Francisco's Strifer, Tampa's MuRdok, and Washington's Ahimsa Sunrise. We've never heard of them, either — except for Blaxmyth. If you've been hearing the growing buzz about a new genre called ghetto metal, this is your chance to check it out. The winning band gets $1 million. The shindig kicks off at the Rock Hall, One Key Plaza, at 5:30 Wednesday, January 24. Tickets are $20. — D.X. Ferris
