Kucinich: The Minstrel Show

Posted By on Thu, Jan 25, 2007 at 12:14 PM

Local embarrassment/vanity presidential aspirant Dennis Kucinich may have hit a new low with his American Idol take on singing a Negro spiritual. The cringe-worthy moment happened when the creepy elf, flanked by Jesse Jackson, started singing "Sixteen Tons" during a speech to the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. Think of it as the political version of the white gangbanger wannabe who tries to talk black. Now you can appreciate Kucinich's patronizing tenor, thanks to the magic of YouTube, where it goes by the name, "Dennis Kucinich sings 'Sixteen Tons,' God hangs himself." -- Kevin Hoffman
