Cavs announce official game parties

Posted By on Wed, May 9, 2007 at 3:34 PM

The Cavaliers don’t play again until Saturday. The NBA apparently wants the playoffs to last until November, so they overlap with the start of next season. Super. Personally, I prefer watching these games at home, where the beer is cheap and the sandwiches are the size of a Kia. The privacy of my living room also allows me to jot down all kids of insightful observations, like how Damon Jones is getting paid $5 million a year to choreograph elaborate pre-game handshakes, or how the patch of hair on the back of Drew Gooden’s head is starting to resemble the island green at Sawgrass. But some people, I realize, enjoy the feeling of camaraderie that comes with watching the game at The Q. So while Games 3 and 4 are in New Jersey, the Cavs plan to manufacture some of that feeling here while the team is on the road. This morning, the team announced the locations of its official Cavaliers Watch Parties for the upcoming games. Saturday’s party is slated for 4 p.m. at Champps in Valley View (5989 Canal Rd). Monday’s party will be at the Strongsville BW3’s (8465 Pearl Rd) at 6 p.m. Both will feature Moon Dog, the Cavs dance team, the Scream Team, and beers that, unlike those at The Q, do not require a 30-year payment plan. – Joe P.
