‘Ladies Who Lunch’ Head to Vue

Posted By on Tue, Jan 8, 2008 at 4:38 PM

The snapshot tells the story: A trio of my female ancestors, circa 1964, all done up in pearls, gloves, hats, and high heels, in front of a local department store. The reason for the gathering? The store’s grand opening, followed by lunch on the town. There’s a train that long ago left the station. Still, it doesn’t hurt to occasionally pretend our lives revolve around lunching with our gal pals. The folks at swanky Vue apparently agree. At noon on Thursday, January 17, the casually upscale restaurant in Hudson’s First & Main Shopping District will host a good, old fashioned, three-course ladies’ luncheon, paired with wine from the award-winning wine list – just right for a workday break or a leisurely outing. Even the menu, designed by executive chef Rick Carson, has a feminine ring: Parisian melons with Maui onions, ahi tuna with fresh pesto, and tiramisu with candied hazelnuts. A little shopping, a little lunching, and – what the hell? – another pour of that yummy Riesling, and before you know it, you could be twirling your pearls, too. Cost of the luncheon, and matching wines, is $35. Call 330-650-1883 for reservations. --- Elaine T. Cicora
