And check back Mondays for C-Notes' Picks of the Week. Friday: With bandmate names like Cherry Blow-Me and Goil Von Frankenhooker, L.A.’s all-girl Bitchfits dish out melodic hardcore in a tribute to the Misfits. The foursome plays two concerts this weekend: at 9 tonight at the Jigsaw in Parma and 9 p.m. Sunday at Now That’s Class on the west side. Saturday: Ultimate Fighting Championship fans can gather around the wide-screen boob tubes at Around the Corner for the UFC’s broadcasts its first fight of 2008 from England between BJ “the Prodigy” Penn and Joe “Daddy” Stephenson for the world lightweight title. After the 3 p.m. fight, the rockers from Hot Sauce Gravy will provide the late-night testosterone. Sunday: Lakewood’s West End Tavern promises to make “mega” mimosas to wash down a gourmet à-la-carte brunch at 10 this morning to warm up fans for the 3 p.m. AFC championship game between San Diego and New England, followed by the 6 p.m. NFC matchup between the Giants and Green Bay. The club will even throw in free foil-wrapped hot dogs and in-their-shell peanuts during the games.
