High School Rock-Off Rocks On

Live Nation has announced the finalists from round three of the 12th Annual Tri-C High School Rock-Off. Three more bands will move on the battle of the bands' Final Exam, to be held Saturday, February 2 at House of Blues (308 Euclid Ave., 216-523-2583): The new finalists are Funk You (from Western Reserve HS and Hudson High), Beyond Beauty (Streetsboro and Hudson), and Rumored Alone (Aurora, Walsh, and Kenston). ... Winners from rounds one and two are Back For More (Columbia Station and Berea), Dr. Salt (Willoughby South), Exit Cleveland (Benedictine and Mayfield), Eclyptic (Hudson and Streetsboro), Mescaline (Nordonia, Shaker, and Bedford), and Terra Firma (Chardon and Lake Academy). Round four takes place this weekend at House of Blues, from Friday Jan 25 through Sunday Jan 27. Friday: doors 4:30 p.m, featuring Cheyne-Stokes, Dadaist, Derik Kroeze, Eunuch, Losers Day Parade, Manifest Destiny, Rook Takes Queen, Silent Theory, the Carsons, the Shams, Thee TV Oh Dees, and Trivial Riffed. Saturday: doors 4:30 p.m., featuring Arisen, astrovan, Dodging Susan, Lack of Sanity, Living in Character, Polos & Panties, Second Story Attic, Sure Fire, the Announced, the Carpet Kings, the Critically Acclaimed, and the Refugees. Sunday: doors 3:30 p.m., featuring 3 Grand, Animus, Audio Euphoria, Bad Memory, Death to Goody Proctor, E-Z, Hopeless Encounters, Lakeshore, New to Tell, Reverse the Curse, the Bootleg Brothers, and the Distractions. -- D.X.
