Polish Up That Flask: Hank Williams Jr.'s Cleveland-bound

Posted By on Fri, Feb 1, 2008 at 2:04 PM

To all my rowdy friends: Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Hank Williams Junior, who will hit Clevleand’s Wolstein Center on April 11th, to perform 70’s country-rock with his whiskey brethren, Lynyrd Skynyrd. The stop is part of the Rowdy Frynds Tour, a slog across America that brings with it decades of alcohol abuse, broken marriages, and a single pair of Wrangler jeans. It’s kind of like every other country tour, but way drunker. Williams Junior, known to friends a Bocephus, is a God among men, born in the bayou and nursed off a bottle of whiskey. While not on tour, he holes himself up at a private compound in Missoula, Montana. He spends his days fishing and hunting. Legend has it that Bocephus can strangle an elk with his armpit, pick-off a rabbit from more than a mile away, and crochet their pelts into blankets for Katrina victims. And who wouldn’t want to see that? Reserved seat tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Get them through Ticketmaster. -- Bradley Campbell
