Former Solon cop Andrew Kolcinko caught threatening his girlfriend again

The former cop continued to threaten Elizabeth Stevens after he was convicted
When we last checked in on Andrew Kolcinko, the former Solon cop had just been convicted of telephone harassment after he was caught making death threats to his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Stevens, and their infant son. Stevens handed Garfield Heights police over 15 hours of recorded phone conversations in which Kolcinko promised to shoot her and then smother their son. "We will see when I choke that little motherfucker and put the pillow on his fucking face just until he almost stops breathing," Kolcinko could be heard saying... At first, Kolcinko claimed he was innocent and that his threats were baited by Stevens, who’d refused to let him see his son. Then he heard the tapes and changed his tune. After pleading no contest, Kolcinko was sentenced to two years of probation, anger management, and domestic violence classes. He also lost his job at the Solon Police Department, where he served for over 16 years. Still, in May of last year, Garfield Heights prosecutor James McGrath predicted that we’d probably hear from Kolcinko again -- even though the judge warned that if he contacted Stevens once more, he’d be sent to prison for up to 18 months. “This fella just doesn’t get it,” McGrath told Scene. “If I was a betting man, I’d bet that we see them again. Love dies hard. There’s a fatal attraction there for whatever reason.” McGrath was right. Shortly after his conviction, Kolcinko started calling Stevens from payphones all over Cleveland. Only this time, Stevens didn’t need to record the calls. Every time Kolcinko stopped to make a call, gas station surveillance videos caught him in action. He is now facing felony charges. – Denise Grollmus
