Cleveland may have seen its snowiest March in history, but try telling that to Lance Desvari, Lorain’s building chief. It’s been one month since Lorain police began investigating Desvari on charges of dereliction of duty, intimidation and issuing improper building permits. And from the looks of it, Desvari’s sins may require another two months to parse, meaning another 60 days of that sweet, sweet nectar known as “paid administrative leave…”
But some in Lorain are unhappy that Desvari’s “punishment” amounts to a paid vacation. Councilman Dan Givens (D-for Downer)
expressed his displeasure to the Morning Journal: “If they don't have sick time or vacation time to use on their own, they should not be paid, period,” Given said. “It's ridiculous. If you're screwing up so bad you can't perform your work, use your own vacation time or get out.”
Sounds like someone’s jealous. Well gee, Councilman Givens, rather than throw stones, why not follow suit? You too can have your own paid vacation if you’d just stop doing your job. God, do we have to spell it out for you?
Now who wants a whippet?
