Foodie paradise: The North Union Farmers Market’s annual benefit

A celebration of all things seasonal, sustainable, and locally grown
Forget those clouds and icy breezes: We know it’s spring because we just got our invite to Let’s Get Fresh!, the annual benefit for the North Union Farmers Market. Scheduled for Monday, April 28, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Eton Chagrn Boulevard (28601 Chagrin Blvd.), the shindig is a celebration of all things seasonal, sustainable, and locally grown, with profits going to benefit the market, one of the largest, best organized, and most successful farmers markets in the country, now entering its 14th year… Among the 28 top chefs cooking up a taste of earthy goodness, find Karen Small (Flying Fig), Matt Harlan and Andy Strizak (Lolita), Doug Katz (fire food & drink), Regan Reik (Pier W), Heather Haviland (Sweet Mosaic/Lucky’s Café), and Jonathan Sawyer (Bar Cento), along with wine and beer stations, live music from Grupo Brazil, and a silent auction, where prizes include dinner for 12 in famed NEO florist Don Vanderbrook’s decked-out garden, prepared by Chef Doug Katz. Besides being a perennial sell-out, the event is always friendly and relaxed, with tasting stations featuring dishes made with local grown meats, cheeses, pastas, fruits, veggies, and more – making it a great opportunity to round up some foodies and nosh the night away. There are four tiers of tickets: $80 for Friends of the Market (open wine and beer bar, complimentary valet parking and Market membership), $125 for Market Patrons (includes a market bag, open wine and beer bar, complimentary valet parking, and Market membership), $175 for Market Grand Patrons (includes listing in Seasonal Hint Collection, Patron Gift Bag, open wine and beer bar, complimentary valet parking and Market membership) and $500 Patron Package For 2 (includes farmer’s recipe sponsorship in Seasonal Hint Collection, Ultimate Patron Benefit gift bag, open wine and beer bar, complimentary valet parking and Market membership).
