Cavs Watch Party in Lakewood tonight

Posted By on Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 12:09 PM

Lakewood’s Winking Lizard masquerades as a mini-Quicken Loans Arena tonight, when the Cavs take on the Washington Wizards in Game 3 of the NBA playoffs. As host of the post-season’s first official “Cavaliers Watch Party,” the bar will broadcast the game on its widescreen TVs while the Cavs Girls dance troupe and mascots Moondog and Ahmaad pump up the fans for the 8 p.m. tipoff. ... “It’s basically all of the at-game entertainment you’d see at a Cavs game. And it’s crowded but not too overwhelming,” says team spokeswoman Dana Bail. “If we see the crowd is getting too big for the bar, then we’ll move it to the Q.” Sunday’s Watch Party will take place at Johnny Malloy’s in Cleveland Heights. “This has been a fun series so far,” says Bail. “My fingers are crossed, and I’m knocking on wood that they keep winning.” Doors open at 7 tonight at the Winking Lizard (14018 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood; 216-226-6693) and noon Sunday at Johnny Malloy’s (2781 Euclid Heights Boulevard in Cleveland Heights; 216-320-1800). -- Cris Glaser
