kids%20in%20the%20hall.jpg Every Friday, Scene calendar editor Cris Glaser provides a random but reliable sampling of things to do this weekend. For more options, log onto entertainment.clevescene.com. And check back Monday for C-Notes' Picks of the Week. Friday: Back in the day, you couldn’t talk about Cleveland’s Michael Stanley Band without a mention of the sextet’s influential axeman Jonah Koslen. Tonight, the songwriting brains behind MSB staples like “Waste a Little Time on Me” teams with Breathless keyboardist Rik Williger and bassist Bill March to debut Koslen’s new CD, Telling on My Self, on Cleveland’s West Side. Former Easy Street Band drummer Donny Thompson rounds out the foursome. A $10 ticket gets you into the 9 p.m. show at Brothers Lounge, 11609 Detroit Avenue. Call 216-226-2767 for details. Saturday: Canada’s quirky comedy troupe, Kids in the Hall, reunites after a six-year break for a couple hours’ worth of social satire in Live As We’ll Ever Be, at Playhouse Square. Co-founder Kevin McDonald hints that this may be the last time the quintet will take their act on a cross-continental tour with classic characters like the Chicken Lady and Headcrusher. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. at the Palace Theatre, 1519 Euclid Avenue. Tickets are $39.75 by calling 216-241-6000. Sunday: Fais do-do on the B-Side bayou for the tastes and sounds of Nawlins Night. Cleveland Independents – a club of 80 indie restaurants – has partnered with party band Buckwheat Zydeco to produce a night of New Orleans-style grub and Louisiana blues. For a $50 ticket, the menu boasts Creole offerings, like Fat Fish Blue’s seafood jambalaya, Bistro 185’s crabcakes, and the J. Pistone Market’s bourbon pecan bars. The party runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the B-Side Liquor Lounge www.bsideliquorlounge.com, 2533 Euclid Heights Boulevard in Cleveland Heights. Call 216-932-3322 for more info.
