There’s an exciting new way to stock up on crap you don’t need: LivingSocial.com has entered the Cleveland market. Billed as “the group-buying phenomenon sweeping the nation,” the Washington, D.C.-based website made Cleveland the 26th stop in its quest to rule the world one half-price coupon at a time.

Each morning, LivingSocial posts a discount offer from a local merchant and alerts followers to get in on it via e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, or iPhone app. You get 24 hours to act on each offer.
LivingSocial Cleveland launched last week with a deal for a one-hour Segway ride — that’s a $55 value, friends — for a mere $20 (cop uniform not included).

Spokeswoman Korina Buhler says the site has a local sales team that ferrets out participating businesses like restaurants, spas, fitness centers, and attractions.

Why Cleveland, and why now? “Basically we pick markets that are the most vibrant,” says Buhler. And you were worried the nation didn’t love us.
