A woman living in Clayton, a suburb of Dayton, called the police after she got wind that her boyfriend had broken into his dead father's house, which was currently under ownership of a bank, to steal his air conditioner. Rolling up to the house on a bright orange bike, the boyfriend broke in through a window and went right to the air conditioner downstairs. He was arrested for breaking and entering.
While stealing a dead man's air conditioner seems pretty wrong, it's been really hot here in Ohio, and I'm sure this guy's father would have wanted him to have it. But the boyfriend would later tell police that the air conditioner wasn't what he was after. It was the copper inside of it.
This guy's plan was to take the copper he would remove from the AC unit and sell it until he had enough money to get a hotel room, since his girlfriend had kicked him out.
Stealing copper from your dead father's air conditioner. Now I've really heard it all.
