Group Uses LeBron James in Attack Ad on Candidate

If you didn't think there was any way to connect LeBron James, Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray, guns, concealed weapons laws, and crime, you'd be wrong. Because in Ohio, there's no better way to sully your opponents reputation than by comparing him to LeBron, even if the comparison makes zero sense.

Americans United for Safe Streets, an anti-gun group, is sending out this mailer to folks in Ohio.

The front: "Florida took LeBron. What did we get in return?

The back: "They sent us 92 illegal guns and gun-toting criminals. And Richard Cordray is letting them do it."

A spokesman for Americans United for Safe Streets writes: "Ohio has now been on the short side of two very unpopular trades with Florida. When the trade involves dangerous criminals carrying guns in Ohio and Richard Cordray fails to stop it, this becomes much more than a game."

The D.C.-based lobby is targeting Ohio's sitting Attorney General over Ohio gun laws, specifically Ohio's acceptance of Florida concealed carry permits, which they see as a problem because Florida allows criminals convicted of misdemeanors to get permits.

We're still a little confused though. Did Richard Cordray trade LeBron James? Why did he only ask for 92 illegal guns in return? Did the gun-toting criminals put Ohio over the salary cap? When do their contracts expire?
