Goodbye, 2010. Well miss the glasses the most.
  • Goodbye, 2010. We'll miss the glasses the most.

Before we completely forget about 2010, we take this moment to look back at our favorite moments of merriment from the past year. After all, we couldn't do this without you. And by that we mean you the reader, and you the bizarre and interesting people who gave us plenty to write about.

Here are our favorite stories from 2010:

— Ashtabula County was a veritable Wild West this year. Budget cuts forced the county to shrink its sheriff staff, and a judge suggested citizens arm themselves for protection. The result: roving bands of farmer vigilantes.

— Nothing else patches up a bad relationship like a Schedule II controlled substance. Such was the thinking when one Mayfield Heights guy invited his ex over to ride the white tiger. She had other ideas.

— When local news stations started reporting a shooting had taken place at NASA Glenn, Scene was quick to spread the news. Then the incident turned out to be a false alarm. News story? No. An opportunity for some reflection? Yes.

— One kid’s birthday party. Two drug users. One hidden axe. One argument over lawn chairs. Stir together and serve chilled.

— Our southern neighbors in the capitol came pretty close to inciting an international conflict this winter. The reason for the strained tensions? Conference chairs.

— Brothers fighting? That's normal. Brothers fighting over food? Maybe a story. Brothers fighting over a piece of fried chicken? Yeah, we're all over that one.

— Our favorite headline of the year: Naked napping man run over, parked on by car.

— Any story combining Family Feud, Steve Harvey, and naked grandmas is bound to get our attention.

— As is any tale of a man caught using a whizzinator during a court-ordered drug test.

— Finally, we greatly enjoyed chronicling the tears of John Boehner this past year. They were plentiful and forced and glorious.
