David Mills found out today that the Supreme Court voted unanimously 9-0 for his client Michelle Ortiz, an Elyria woman who was sexually assaulted while imprisoned in Ohio.

The case is remarkable for a few reasons: Mills is one of the youngest not only to have argued a case in front of the Supreme Court, but to win one. He's just 33 and opened his solo federal appeals practice in a spare room in his downtown apartment with his mother serving as his part-time paralegal.

According to the PD (where you can find more details on the case):

The justices unanimously agreed that a federal appeals court was wrong to throw out a $625,000 award to Michelle Ortiz. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati had "no warrant" to override the jury's verdict.
